Jiajing is NOT an artist. She just makes stuff.

She just graduated from RMIT MFA Program. And she has no idea what to do next. Her practice surrounds installation, assemblage, photography, and collage. Her artistic exploration centres on the untapped aesthetic potential residing within the discarded poor materials. The mundane and her lived experience is important in her work. She makes three-dimensional assemblages and two-dimensional collages based on domestic consumption and overlooked moments of urban life. She assembles diverse elements such as domestic waste, plastic, tinfoil in her installation practice. In her photomontage work, she uses distorted images and photos of street scenes to create rhythmic imagery collages. She intends to reimagine the forms of the materials and images, ingraining them with a certain degree of self-expression. Demonstrating vulnerability and reflecting on traumatic experiences through the process of intuitively generating the work.
